Community Connections spotlights food access and healthy cooking in Baltimore
BALTIMORE (WBFF) — The latest episode of Community Connections highlighted local efforts to connect Baltimore-area residents with nutritious food and practical resources.
Host Alex Parker spoke with Angela Roberson, a registered dietitian and certified diabetes care and education specialist with MedStar Food Rx, about the role food access can play in overall health and wellness.
The episode also included a discussion on community food resources and featured images of people selecting fresh and shelf-stable items.
Later, Taueret Thomas, vice president of gastronomy education at The BIT Center, joined the program with a healthy cooking demonstration. Thomas prepared a skillet sweet potato and collard green hash using fresh ingredients alongside a representative from First Fruits Farm.
