The Old Oriole Park

Terrapin Park, or Oriole Park V, was home to the Federal League Baltimore Terrapins (1914-1915), International League Orioles (1916-1944), and part-time for the Negro National League Baltimore Elite Giants (1939-1942). Located at Greenmount Avenue and 29th Street, opposite Oriole Park II and IV, it featured a layout with first base on East 29th Street, right field on Greenmount Avenue, left field on East 30th Street, and third base on Vineyard Lane. Today, the site is occupied by row houses, Barclay Elementary School, and Peabody Heights Brewery. In 2015, the brewery pinpointed the former home plate location with the help of the original survey company. The taproom now stands on the former left field, close to where the pitcher’s mound was, next to the south-facing wall of the former Royal Crown bottling plant, now part of the brewery.
