Dear Friends,

Moveable Feast is closely monitoring the COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) outbreak and the current guidance being provided by the CDC, the Maryland Department of Health and local health departments across Maryland. Our clients are among the most vulnerable in our community, and we are committed to ensuring the health and safety of all those we serve. While we already follow strict protocols for hygiene and sanitation (due to the compromised immune systems of many of our clients), we will be making a few adjustments to our operations so that we can continue to provide nutritious, home-delivered meals to our clients as safely as possible during this unprecedented time.

We are implementing social distancing measures as recommended to slow the spread of this virus. Our dietitians, client services staff, and drivers will continue to check-in with our clients regularly by phone, but no direct in-person visits will occur. Meals will be delivered on schedule with a plan for safe distance drop-offs. As of now, Medical Transportation will continue with extra sanitation and social distancing measures.

As of Monday, March 16, we are suspending our volunteer program in order to minimize the number of individuals coming in and out of our building. We are making slight adjustments to our menus to reduce prep time given that our kitchen will be temporarily without the support of our volunteers. We are so grateful to our many committed volunteers, and look forward to resuming usual volunteer shifts as soon as we are able. We understand that this is a challenging and uncertain time, and we encourage our community of clients, volunteers, and supporters to be diligent in their efforts to stay informed and practice the hygiene standards outlined by the CDC. We want to thank you for your continued support of our organization and those we serve. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns by calling 410-327-3420.

Sincerely,

Jessica Kohnen
Interim Executive Director
